I don’t really want to live in a huge city. I actually HATE huge cities. I hate spending hours a day in traffic, I hate how everything’s dirty, and how everything that actually is beautiful is so overrun with people that you can’t experience it.
Which is why I’m unsure why I’m moving to DC. I think I’ll have lots of job opportunities there, but I have lots of job opportunities anywhere.
Nick is moving to DC because he doesn’t want to switch jobs (this is his third or fourth since he graduated from college in 2003). Essentially, I’m therefore moving to DC so Nick has a nicer resume. Doesn’t really seem like a good way to determine what the next few years of my life will look like.
Not that I’m crossing it off the list, but it dawned on me that I can move ANYwhere and I haven’t even considered it. I don’t really care about Nick’s resume that much.
It’s a big decision to make largely based on someone who doesn’t love me.
How romantic.
